The Sunshine Stop is a nonprofit organization that provides meaningful employment to adults with disabilities, right here in Excelsior, MN. We sell creative goods and refreshments at prime locations in the area, and need your help for the 2025 Summer Season (June 17-August 14). Volunteering with The Sunshine Stop is one of the most rewarding ways you can give. Our volunteers report that working with our employees—The Sunshine Squad—not only brings joy and enrichment to our employees lives, but to their life as well.

How to Volunteer

If you would like to support The Sunshine Stop through your gift of time, simply take the following steps:

1. Read, Sign & Submit the Volunteer Training Guide by selecting the button below.

2. Make an account with the SignUpGenius app, and select days that work for you. (Refer to step-by-step how-to in the Training Guide or see below.)

Every other Tuesday, 1-4pm
Locations: Pop-ups around town

    Volunteers play a vital role in keeping the workspace welcoming and safe, and in helping to support our employees as they shine in their roles. As a volunteer you will also assist with general setup, help guide visitors and lend a hand wherever it’s needed to make each day a success.

    This season we’re offering fresh, handcrafted lemonade and iced tea; cookies and flavored popcorn; and we’re excited to share our new branded gear, handmade crafts and limited-edition goods—created with love and pride by our team.

    Thanks to the support of our wonderful 2024 volunteers, last summer was a heartwarming success. As we gear up for another sunny season, we couldn’t be more excited to see familiar faces returning to help us grow our mission. Whether you are already a friend of ours or are new to volunteering for The Sunshine Stop, we are so glad you’re here, thank you and welcome!

Step-By-Step: How To Make A SignUpGenius Account.

1. Download the SignUpGenius app from the App Store.

2. Register yourself within the app.
- Enter your name
- Create a password
- Click Register Now

3. Activate your account.
- After registering you will receive an email that will require you to activate your account.

4. Find a shift(s) that works for you.
- Once registration is complete, click on the three lines in the upper right-hand corner.
- Click on Find a Sign-Up
- Enter: TheSunshineStop50@gmail.com
- The Sunshine Stop Volunteers 2025 should appear.
- Click on sign-up.

5. Sign up for your shift(s).
- Scroll through to your desired date and time and click the sign up button.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit and Sign Up.
- You will be directed to a confirmation screen and asked to add your phone number.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Sign Up Now. |
- You will receive a confirmation email
- You will also receive a reminder email 2 days before your shift.

6. Use this platform to sign-up, edit, swap and delete shifts.
We can reach out to the group with a newly available shift & someone else can claim that shift.
